I cannot even think before that I will be capable of achieving this prestigious honor. Back when I was in elementary and junior high school, I was just an ordinary student, not driven enough to attain higher achievements. But, I changed my previous self and set a goal that seemed to be impossible, but by the grace of God. I am able to do so.
Getting the highest honors was not as easy as people say it was. I had sleepless nights of studying, preparing some reports, making projects, and any sorts of hardships as a student. There are also some discouragements, criticisms and mockeries that I have experienced. But the Lord is good and His love endures forever for giving me this blessing of success and for giving me enough endurance and strength to face all of those challenges Personally, I have encountered a great test of time that has absolutely challenged me to achieve this goal. March of 2018, I have to leave earlier than my batch mates for I am diagnosed of a spinal complication called scoliosis. I needed to be operated immediately. I was scheduled on March 28, 2017 but was postponed because of an another anomaly. My doctors have discovered in my x-ray result that I just have a single lung. My operation was then skipped until the 28th of May. I was hesitant to be operated because it will be the start of school year. But I was operated still, because I know it was all on God's plan. After one week in the hospital. I got discharged and immediately went to school. My parents, who were all too worried, did not even agree to let me go to school yet. But I was determined and eager to go back because I don't want to skip any of our school lessons. But the Lord was very faithful to me. He gave me enough endurance to survive a whole day in school. Which is so hard for me that time. Imagine having a stainless steel on your spine, which weighed heavier than normal. After school my body aches so badly. I remembered bearing my back pains during periodical and unit tests. In my early months, I had sleepless nights for bearing the pain. Medicines cannot cure my agony, and I just prayed to God to ease all of those. But I cannot do all those things without Christ who gave me the strength I needed. Now, the Lord has prospered and enabled me to be capable of confessing my testimony in public, more than privileged to have the title as the highest honor My point of saying these was, reaping all the fruits of hardwork and success was not to be underestimated. I have realized that it was very indispensable to face present challenges and obstacles to obtain future success and achievements. And if you are one of those who have struggled, then we have no difference. At least we have these people who have been alongside our success and the ones behind the persons we are now. That's why I am really thankful to my family, who have been my source of strength . To my advisers and subject teachers, thank you for believing in me. To my friends and classmates, thank you for the support. And lastly, to the Lord for His faithfulness and for providing me the strength I needed. And to those young ones who have been doubting themselves if they are capable enough to achieve their dreams, don't doubt your capabilities for God will give you enough strength to do all things because nothing is impossible in the Lord. Soli Deo Gloria! (Glory to God!) |
