GRATITUDE SPEECH
JESSAFEL MONETTE GEROLAGA TOLO
WITH HIGHEST HONORS
SY 2017 - 2018
Miss Jessafel Moneth G. Tolo
|
To the Schools Division Superintendent. Dr. Rhea Mar A. Angtud, our respected Principal, Dr. Hipolito Q. Pegarido, Jr., the equally active Assistant School Principal II Of LNHS, Mr. Carmelito M. Lauron, Sr., our distinguished guests, teachers, our parents And families, my fellow graduates, students, friends, a blissful and blue afternoon!
First and foremost, to speak before all of you is a privilege for in order to do so, I needed to reconcile with my love which is writing. Thus, standing here itself is something I will be grateful for the rest of my existence. Getting the highest honor was certainly not an easy road. So as with my co-graduates’ journey, before reaping the fruits of their hard work and faith, everything seemed too difficult. Some were even running out of hope. And if you are one of those, we are no difference. But there is a treasured fact we may keep hidden in a chest and Somewhat miss in the middle of pessimism and chaos–we ain’t never alone in this battle. That is why to one and all who walked with us till we reach this far, feeling Gratitude is a must attitude. That line hit me hard, not so long ago, last March 27, as I received a friend request from an old comrade in Facebook. We exchanged messages and had a brief conversation for I was finalizing my speech at that time. You see, after our chat, my heart was shattered into pieces and so I dedicate this very moment to him. He was our batch mate who could be with us at this time of triumph but unfortunately, He will be spending most of his life inside a prison. What I am pointing out is, to be part of the graduating class, to be here, is a blessing we ourselves should be thankful for. Let us not belittle this achievement because not all can savor this success. Therefore, let me use this opportunity to give thanks to those people who have Played special roles in my entire high school life. To the greatest mom of all time, Mrs. Jesusa G. Tolo, a thank you is not enough. You are my reason in everything I do, my Strength and my home. I love you ma, and for you I will always strive to be a righteous person. As for my father, who maybe a victim of illegal drugs and who was busted on the night of March 28, probably at this moment he is being transferred to CPDRC. In1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, it says “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for You in Christ Jesus. ”So to that man I badly miss, Mr. Felix Tolo, Sr., thank you for giving me such drive to succeed. As a daughter I fall short, and with that I apologize. To the parents and guardians of these amazing young ones, I thank you all for Your immeasurable love to your children. It is good to know that despite financial challenges, our parents persevere in providing us all kinds of support we need. I personally salute you. And not to forget our second parents, it is only right and just to pay honor to our educators who have been risking and putting their lives in the line just for us to finally grasp this victorious and grandiose event of history. From my advisers and subject teachers both in Junior and Senior High School,(names),to name a few, from the very depth of my heart, thank you so much. To all the teaching force of LNHS, we are extending our sincerest gratitude for honing us to be the best version we can be. With reverence, I would also like to thank our former School Principal, Mrs. Elisa M. Escutin, our current father, Dr. Hipolito Q. Pegarido, Jr., and my dear friend and idol, Sir Carmelito M. Lauron, Sr., thank you bigtime for your strong leadership towards the betterment of this institution. On the other hand, with my growth not just as a learner but as a person, credits to These organizations I am proud to take part of. One is the official school publication, PAROLA, in which I was mentored by an excellent adviser in the person of Mr. Patterson D. Ponce, who would always remind me to be a journalist by heart. Another, to my Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of the Philippines family, it was a pleasure being a member of a Brotherhood of servant leaders. Also, to the ABM group headed by Papa Aris Vincenth Gayoso and Ma’am Rosalie Mahilum, a million thanks for lighting my way when it gets Dark and crooked. I owe you a lot the Majestics. In behalf of the pioneering k-12 graduates of SY2017-2018, our heartfelt gratitude to our beloved alma mater, who continues to offer boundless array of opportunities to ambitious students like me. The same goes with the experiences, our classmates, friends, crushes, school guards, kuya and ate vendors, janitors, and all the supporting characters of our diverse life stories, a big thank you. Above everything else, I thank God our Creator for without His son, Jesus Christ, we are nothing. In his absence, the honors we receive are meaningless. And trust me when I say, whether you are from Accountancy, Business, and Management or not, the best investment is when you have God in your life. Lastly, along with my gratitude to you my fellow graduates for never giving up, I will leave to you a challenge that is as significant as this ceremony’s theme, “K–12 Learners; Ready to Face Life’s Challenges,”– prove the world that our generation’s Potential will not be a mere waste, but attribute to our predecessors’ efforts and to the Upcoming seeds of tomorrow. Thank you and my warmest congratulations to each and everyone! |
